Wrocław 2016 Office, Unit of Urban and Rural Sociology and Unit of Sociology of Culture and Civilization at Institute of Sociology University of Wroclaw, Municipality of Wroclaw in cooperation with Polish Sociological Association (Section of Urban Sociology and Wroclaw branch) invited academics and researchers to participate in an international conference “City and Culture”, which is going was held from the 20th until the 22nd of September 2017.
Participants and guests not only presented their papers but also took part in debates, workshops and artistic performances taking place in a courtyard in Ruska 46.
Among conference speakers we had guests from many universities and research centres in Poland and Europe (e.g. France, Germany, the UK, Hungary and Ukraine).
The starting point for discussions on complex relations between city and culture was a set of reports on evaluation of ECoC Wrocław 2016 published by a team of researchers from the Institute of Sociology at Wrocław University.
Our scholars were honoured with commemorative medals awarded by the city mayor, Rafał Dutkiewicz.
