We are glad to inform that Institute of Sociology awarded a grant from the “University of young explorer” initiative which is a part of Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development 2014-2020 coordinated by National Centre for Research and Development. The main goal of the “Entrepreneurial village of young generation” project is to improve the business skills and local entrepreneurship among youths who represent Lower Silesian communities suffering from progressive depopulation and complex socio-economic problems.
During the project, a set of workshops for youths will be conducted, with close attention to the identification of promising economic activities that provide good opportunities for local economic development. Moreover, all participants will get a chance to improve their knowledge on business modeling and strategic planning enabling optimal match of own small businesses to socio-economic profile of local community. A special workshops will be also dedicated to parents who will gain expert skills in the field of financial analysis to support youths in their first steps in the local labour markets.
The project is carried out by Dawid Krysiński PhD (project leader), Barbara Szczepańska PhD, Barbara Pabjan PhD and Mateusz Gałkowski MA, in close collaboration with “HereTogether” Association which is a non-governmental organization with great experience in the area of social activation of Lower Silesian local communities. It is worth noting that the Association was established by postgraduates of our Institute and since that time its members have conducted several projects funded by Polish and European institutions supporting various social initiatives that aim to improve local and regional quality of life.
